RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s CM candidate, Tejashwi Yadav, has hit back at Union Minister and LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan, saying the latter has compromised for power despite the BJP-led NDA setting his family to fire.

Speaking to reporters in Patna on Saturday night, Yadav targeted the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar over various issues, including unemployment, lack of investment and poverty.

“Bihar is the poorest state in India, with the lowest per capita income. People still have to migrate for education, healthcare, and employment. There are no factories or investments in the state. The CM doesn’t even attend the NITI Aayog meetings, let alone bringing in investments…,” Yadav said.

When reporters asked about Chirag Paswan’s remark that RJD opposed the appointment of a Muslim Chief Minister in Bihar in 2005, Yadav said that the Union Minister lacked vision for Bihar, thus, it doesn’t matter what he says.

Referring to the tussle between Chirag Paswan and his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras after his father Ram Vilas Paswan’s death, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Chirag is with NDA in greed for power. He compromises for power. That is why his statements are not considered important.”

He also claimed that Chirag Paswan is feeling “uncomfortable” in the NDA.

In a social media post on X, Chirag had earlier claimed that while his father sacrificed his own party to make a Muslim chief minister, the RJD was not ready for it.

“RJD was not ready for a Muslim chief minister even in 2005. And today in 2025, it is neither ready to give a Muslim chief minister nor a deputy chief minister (to Bihar),” the Union Minister had said, asking, “If you remain a bonded vote bank, how will you get respect and participation?”
