Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and National President of the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), has filed a theft complaint against his PA-cum-JJD General Secretary Motilal Rai at Patna’s Secretariat Police Station.
In his complaint, Tej Pratap alleged that Motilal stole Rs 20 lakh in cash, gold jewellery, a laptop, mobile phones and electronic items worth several lakhs of rupees from his residence. He further claimed that Motilal has been missing since the alleged theft.
Following the complaint, Tej Pratap took another major step by expelling Motilal from the party. He announced the decision on Tuesday through his X account.
Tej Pratap said, “Motilal Rai is being expelled with immediate effect from the post of National General Secretary of Janshakti Janata Dal. The party’s national and state organisational units are also being dissolved. New national and state committees will be constituted soon. Last night, Motilal fled by scaling the wall of my residence at 42A Harding Road after taking several of my valuable belongings, important documents and cash. Therefore, he has been removed from the post of party General Secretary.”
Meanwhile, Motilal Rai’s wife, Preeti Bharti, has expressed concerns about her husband’s safety.
According to Preeti, her husband has been missing since the theft allegations surfaced. She said he had been staying at Tej Pratap Yadav’s residence for the past four to five days, but on Monday night she learned at the police station that he was no longer there.
Preeti Bharti claimed that she last spoke to her husband through a video call made from Tej Pratap Yadav’s mobile phone at around 8 pm on Monday. Since then, she has had no contact with him.
