One of the key accused in the TCS Nashik case, Nida Khan, has sought legal relief citing pregnancy, even as investigations intensify into allegations of harassment and coercion. Nida, currently based in Mumbai, has approached the court for anticipatory bail, with her family asserting that her medical condition warrants protection from arrest.
According to her family members, Nida is expecting her first child and has been living in Mumbai with her husband since January this year. They maintain that her plea for anticipatory bail is based on her pregnancy and health considerations.
Family denies ‘absconding’ claims
Nida’s family has pushed back against claims that she is evading authorities, insisting she remains accessible and has not gone into hiding. They also disputed reports claiming she works as a senior HR official at TCS Nashik.
Also, the family says she worked as a telecaller and was not part of the company’s HR team or any Internal Committee under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act. This claim contradicts earlier reports that linked her to handling employee complaints.
Defence: ‘No conversion or harassment charges’
Nida’s lawyer, Advocate Baba Sayyad, today rejected allegations of forced religious conversion and harassment against his client. He said the FIR naming Nida pertains only to charges of hurting religious sentiments.
“The FIR does not mention forced religious conversion. She has been named in just one case, and the allegation is limited to hurting religious sentiments,” Sayyad said.
He also reiterated that Nida was not an HR manager but a process associate, questioning why she was being labelled the “mastermind” in sections of the media.
