Tamil Nadu Assembly Election Results 2026: Actor-politician Vijay’s TVK has emerged as the largest party in early trends of Tamil Nadu Assembly election results, crossing the 100-seat mark.
According to the latest Election Commission of India trends, the TVK or Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam was leading in 101 seats, just 17 short of the majority mark of 118 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
The AIADMK has also staged a significant comeback with leads in 67 seats. The Opposition party appeared set to regain considerable ground after a spate of poor poll performance.
The ruling DMK, which was projected to retain power in several exit polls, slipped to a distant third position with leads in just 37 seats.
The PMK was leading in 7 seats and the Congress was ahead in just 3 seats.
CM Stalin, son Udhayanidhi trail
Meanwhile, Chief Minister M K Stalin was trailing in his stronghold Kolathur constituency after the first round of counting of votes.
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) candidate V S Babu was ahead in Kolathur with 4,130 votes. Stalin, who secured 3,244 votes in the first round, was trailing with a narrow margin of 886 votes.
AIADMK candidate P Santhana Krishnan was in third with 1,200 votes after the first round of counting of votes.
Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin was also trailing from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni State Assembly seat.
Selvam D of the newly formed Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) was leading from the seat with a margin of more than 1244 votes, according to the Election Commission of India trends.
