A State-level awareness and sensitisation workshop on User Experience and Design System brought together officials from the Odisha government, National Informatics Centre, and Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC).
Vishal Kumar Dev, Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology and Energy Departments, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, he emphasised that citizens can derive maximum benefit when the Odisha Government and the central organizations work in close coordination.
Welcoming the participants, Dr Pradeep Kumar Raut, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics & Information Technology, highlighted the importance of user experience and design systems. He encouraged officers to apply these concepts to strengthen citizen-centric applications. In his introductory remarks, Debabrata Nayak, Chief Technology Officer, NeGD, underlined the role of UX and design systems in enhancing efficiency, timeliness, simplicity, and overall service delivery.
The workshop featured five technical sessions conducted by UI/UX experts Ajit Kumar and Stuti Sharma from NeGD, along with Niladri Bihari Mohanty, Scientist, NIC Odisha. The sessions were coordinated by Jayant Kumar Mishra, Scientist, NIC Odisha.
A brochure on “UI/UX in e-Governance” was released on the occasion. Delivering the vote of thanks, Dr Ashok Kumar Hota, Deputy Director General and State Informatics Officer, NIC Odisha, announced that NIC will soon organise tech boot camps on Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies for Odisha Government officers.
The workshop was jointly organised by NeGD, NIC, Department of Electronics & IT, Government of Odisha, and OCAC.
