After social reformer Periyar, it was the turn for Ambedkar and Marx for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

He visited Ambedkar house and also walked the extra mile to pay homage to Karl Max at Highgate cemetery in London, on Saturday.

A day after unveiling the portrait of Dravidian icon and leader of the non-Brahmin movement ‘Periyar’ EV Ramasamy at Oxford University, he took time during his investment scouting mission in Europe to visit these two landmarks. Periyar, considered a father figure to Dravidian assertion, who had a close rapport with Ambedkar, was also the one who first published the Tamil translation of the ‘Manifesto of the Communist Party’. As such, both Ambedkar and Marx have also shaped the political landscape of Tamil Nadu

“This was where a young man once suppressed by case in India, rose through knowledge to command respect in London and later became the chief architect of the Constitution of India. What touched me most was seeing the historic picture of Thanthai #Periyar and Dr #Ambedkar in conversation,” an awestruck Stalin wrote on ‘X’, after walking through the rooms at Ambedkar’s residence.

Stating that it was an inspiring moment, adding #JaiBhim. It was here that Ambedkar stayed while pursuing his studies at the prestigious London School of Economics (LSE).

He also visited the tomb of the father of communism, Karl Marx and paid floral tributes to the philosopher, who had greatly influenced world history. Ther Chief Minister described Marx as the radiant red sun who gave light to the toiling masses.

“The Philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways. The point, however, is to change it,” Stalin recalled Marx’s famous quote and said “Paid homage at the memorial of the intellectual giant #KarlMarx. Red salute to the radiant red sun who gave light to the working class.”
