Uttar Pradesh Minister OP Rajbhar has slammed Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for making “baseless allegations” regarding the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and accused him of “spreading lies”.
“Had he ever even gone to Ayodhya to see where the Ram Mandir entrance is? What proof do he have that any irregularities or theft has taken place?.. The government does not even have the information, and suddenly, he claims that he knows everything. These are people who are spreading lies and misleading others; there is nothing else to it,” IANS quoted Rajbhar as saying.
This comes after a major political row erupted in Uttar Pradesh after Yadav claimed that crores of rupees received as offerings at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was “missing”.
Yadav had on Sunday alleged that there were reports suggesting that crores of rupees received as donations at the famous temple in Ayodhya were missing and even urged the court to take suo motu cognisance of the matter.
This triggered strong reactions from the BJP and its NDA allies as they demanded evidence and accused the Samajwadi Party of politicising the matter.
Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad said the Opposition leader have “nothing except poster campaigns and making statements.”
“Before raising any issue, one should first understand the facts and demand an investigation. An inquiry should be conducted, and only when something is found to be true in that investigation should statements be made. But the Opposition does not demand an investigation; it starts making allegations straight away, as if it were the investigating agency,” Nishad said.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma also slammed Yadav and urged restraint while commenting on key matters related to faith.
“Why do misconceptions arise only about Lord Ram and matters related to him? I believe that the statement of the trustee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, has already clarified the issue,” Sharma said.
He suggested that people should stop making allegations that could defame a religious institution without verifying the facts at first place.
“No one should make accusations about a place of faith without knowing the truth,” he added.
