Four people, including three family members of a BJP leader, died in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh when their speeding SUV collided from behind into a stationary truck parked on the roadside.
Tent material was being unloaded for an event of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav scheduled in the Sidhi district on Friday when the accident took place on Thursday night. Saddened on getting information about the mishap, CM Dr Yadav expressed deep grief and cancelled his programme there.
According to the police, the mishap occurred near the Behri bypass. The truck was unloading equipment for erecting a tent for a function in which the MP CM was scheduled to inaugurate a new road bridge on the Sone River.
As per DSP Aman Mishra, three occupants of the SUV and one labourer from the truck died.
The deceased were identified as Geeta Jaiswal (55), Dharmendra Jaiswal (25), and Prince Jaiswal (30). All three were family members of the BJP Mayapur Mandal President Shivkumari Jaiswal.
The deceased labourer was identified as Sohaib Khan (18) of Sagar district.
The injured included Ajay Jaiswal (20) and Balkrishna Prajapati (30).
The official said that the postmortem was conducted, and the bodies were handed over to the respective families on Friday.
