Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday expressed shock and anguish on the Las Vegas shooting that left over 50 people dead and over 400 injured.

In her message, Sonia Gandhi condemned the “insensitive act of mindless violence”, calling it a senseless and cowardly act.

Considered one of the deadliest mass shootings in America’s history, a gunman in a high-rise hotel at Las Vegas opened fire on a huge outdoor concert festival, sending thousands of terrified survivors fleeing for cover.

The gunman, identified by police as local resident Stephen Paddock, was later found dead by officers on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino from where he opened fire into the concert, Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said during a news briefing.
