Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday in New Delhi, discussing key developmental issues and infrastructure projects aimed at boosting the state’s growth. The meeting was confirmed via a social media post shared by PM Modi’s office on the handle X.

The meeting comes ahead of PM Modi’s visit to Sikkim, where he is expected to inaugurate projects worth over Rs 750 crore, marking the state’s 50th anniversary. The projects include a new 500-bed district health centre in Namchi, a passenger ropeway at Sangachoeling in Pelling, and the unveiling of a statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Atal Amrit Udyan in Gangtok.

Earlier, last month, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang met PM Modi, seeking central assistance for restoration efforts following recent devastating floods and landslides. The discussions focused on strengthening vital road connectivity, particularly National Highways NH-10 and NH-310A.
