Emotional parents of Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla thanked God for their son’s achievement and safe return to the Earth.
Watching Shubhanshu’s return live at the CMS college Auditorium here on Tuesday, mother Asha was in tears, putting her head on the shoulder of her husband Shambhu Dayal Shukla.
She said it seems like Shubhanshu has been born for the second time.
Before leaving the International Space Station (ISS) under Axiom Mission-4 at 4:30 pm on Monday, Shubhanshu made a call to his parents.
He simply said, “This is my last call from the ISS. I am returning now and will meet soon.” Shubhanshu’s words made the family emotional.
Shubhanshu left for Earth from the International Space Station at 4:45 pm on Monday evening, and after a journey of about 23 hours, the Dragon spacecraft landed at 3 pm in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California.
Throughout the night, Shubhanshu’s family remained glued to the TV screen to watch the live feed from the space agency. Father Shambhu Dayal Shukla recited the Sundarkand on Tuesday morning for his son’s safe landing.
