Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab on Saturday hit back against Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam’s recent allegations about the late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray’s last moments.

On Thursday, Kadam had alleged that Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had kept the corpse of his father at his Bandra East ‘Matoshree’ residence, for two days after he passed away, and his fingerprints were taken.

“Ramdas Kadam behaved despicably at the Dussehra gathering by raising questions about the death of our god, Balasaheb Thackeray. So I will respond. In 1993, Ramdas Kadam’s wife Jyoti Kadam set herself on fire. Did she burn herself or not? To know whether she burnt herself or if she was burnt by somebody else, a narco test must be conducted on Ramdas Kadam. His son Yogesh Kadam is the Minister of State for Home Affairs. An inquiry should be conducted into his father Ramdas Kadam’s business dealings,” Parab told mediapersons.

“I know what Balasaheb Thackeray’s will is. I know the details in the will because I was responsible for getting it done. Moreover, I know whose signatures are on it, whose fingerprints are on it. Even if you take the fingerprints of a dead person, it is of no use. I am telling you this clearly. Ramdas Kadam’s knowledge is crude. These allegations have been made to poison the minds of the people against Uddhav Thackeray.”

He said that when Balasaheb Thackeray passed away, Kadam was made minister by Uddhav Thackeray.

“Why did Ramdas Kadam not complain against Uddhav Thackeray at that time? Why was his mouth shut for the last several years? If Uddhav Thackeray was so bad, then why did Ramdas Kadam accept the ministerial post? In 2019, his son Yogesh Kadam became an MLA. So Uddhav Thackeray was good as long as Ramdas Kadam was getting everything from Uddhav Thackeray. If he considers himself self-respecting, Ramdas Kadam should have left the party then,” Parab said.

Such allegations, he said, are being made to politicise Balasaheb Thackeray’s name and divert attention from issues facing Maharashtra.

Calling the controversial remarks “100 percent false”, Parab asked: “There was a huge crowd of people to meet Balasaheb. You are all media persons. Can anybody’s body be kept for two days after death? Is Ramdas Kadam’s common sense so poor that he cannot understand even this much?”

Parab alleged that Kadam himself has committed many crimes and that he has evidence of all of that.

“During the last session, Chief Minister Fadnavis saved Ramdas Kadam. Why is the Chief Minister saving him? What is the compulsion for saving such people? They run illegal ladies dance bars, indulge in sand theft and illegally take over lands of people. I have evidence about all such cases. One of Kadam’s nephews committed suicide. Why did he commit suicide? Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam should investigate this too and the reason must also be revealed.”
