A day after Congress President Rahul Gandhi fired an electrifying speech in the Lok Sabha during the debate on no-confidence motion, he has earned praise even from the BJP camp.

Showering praise at the Congress chief, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha said that while many leaders stood out with their impressive speeches, it was Rahul Gandhi who was the show stealer in Parliament on Friday.

“Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM) was effective & sharp, saying a lot in few words, Tariq Anwar (NCP) was effective just as Farooq Abdullah (JKNC), was short and crisp to the point, all highly appreciated & applauded but for me the one who stole the show was Rahul Gandhi….3>4” Sinha tweeted.

Sinha also appreciated Saugata Roy (TC), Dinesh Trivedi (TMC), JayadevGalla (TDP) in a series of tweet.

In a veiled attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who spoke for one and a half hour concluding the debate on no-trust vote on Friday, the BJP MP said that his speech could have been shorter.

“People enjoyed his oratory skills but one wished his speech could have been shorter (instead of 1.5 hrs) making it more impactful. Am saying this as a friend and colleague. Motion was defeated and we won as expected – after all the numbers were on our side!,” he wrote.

The Narendra Modi government on Friday passed the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition with an overwhelming majority, with the government getting 325 out of a total 451 votes.

Only 126 MPs voted in favour of the motion.
