On day two of his Karnataka tour, BJP chief Amit Shah met the family of a farmer who committed suicide and slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for failing to address farmer related issues.

In a tweet, Shah said: “Visited the home of Late Shri Rajendrappa ji and paid condolence to the bereaved family.”

“It is very disheartening to see that Siddaramaiah led state govt has constantly failed to address farmer related issues,” said the BJP chief in a bid to project the ruling Congress government as anti-farmer.

Rajendrappa, a resident of Chinnenahalli Village was allegedly distressed and had committed suicide.

Shah had on Friday met the family of slain RSS activist H Raju in Mysuru on day one of election-bound Karnataka that votes on May 12 to elect a new government.

Shah gave the kin of the RSS worker murdered in 2016 a cheque of Rs 5 lakh.

Karnataka’s ruling Congress complained to the Election Commission alleging Shah had tried to polarise voters in Mysuru by offering compensation to Raju’s kin which in turn was a violation of the model code of conduct.
