Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for defeating the perpetrators of terrorism and transformed India into a “prosperous, secured and developed nation”.

Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating ‘Cooperatives Mahotsav, Rozgar Mela’ and related programmes at Dadiya village on the outskirts of the Pink City, he hit out at the Congress-led previous regimes at the Centre for handling terrorism.

Shah said, “Under the Congress (previous rule) the country was facing terrorists strikes every day. This has now been changed, Under ModiJi regime terrorists had first made strike at Uri, ModiJi ordered surgical strikes to demolish their hideouts across the border.

“Then, the terrorists hit at Pulwama army base and ModiJi strongly responded with air strike. Yet again, they had committed Pahalgam and this time ModiJi ordered launch of Operation Sindoor,” he said.

The Home Minister asserted “This time we had hit the Pakistanis in their own lands, blown their terror bases and hide-outs and conveyed strong message to the entire world.

This message – by ModiJi was – “No one can (& should) take India, her armed forces and public, for granted, otherwise outcome will be gravely serious”, Shah said.

“Thus, the most important accomplishment of the 11-year Modi rule is that the country has conveyed strong and unambiguous message to the terrorists and their perpetrators about our strength and zero tolerance against terrorism.

“It is not only about terror curbing, the country has been made new strides in all vital human need related arenas including the economy.

The initiatives and measures taken by the present day government (at the Centre) resulted in elevating life of 27 crore BPL class people who have been retrieving from the BPL level to above the poverty line”, he quipped.

The economic reforms and policies brought by the incumbent government had made India fourth largest economy of the world.

The government extended further benefits free ration, electricity, water and cooking gas to 60 crore people of the country under the food security and other pro poor initiatives.

Under the leadership of ModiJi -“Cooperative movement also scaled new heights. The PM has upgraded the Co-operative affairs and its department into a full-fledged Ministry four years back. We began with 2 lakh PACS and presently the benefit of schemes and initiatives in the cooperatives sector has been extended to much larger masses through 40 lakh PACS.

At Rajasthan state level, Shah criticised the Congress for alleged failures of its previous regimes, particularly for repeated paper leaks. He lauded the probe and investigation undertaken by a specially constituted Special Investigation Team(SIT) under the Bhajan Lal Sharma led BJP government that assumed the office following December 2023 assembly elections.

In a significant political message the Union Home Minister has equivocally praised the performance of the incumbent Chief Minister Sharma as well as the contributions made by party senior leader and Ex-Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for development in the state during her two previous regimes.

Shah showered praise up on CM Sharma saying “He had been working hard in duly implementing the pro-poor agenda of the party of the welfare of poor – socially and economically weaker sections of the society.

Sharma is also working remarkably well in energy – power and agriculture sectors and also for augmenting water availability in the state, the Cooperatives Minister said making special mention on the RamJal Setu East Rajasthan Interstate Canal Project, the DPR for Rajasthan – Haryana Yamuna Jal Accord and benefits of Jal Jeevan Mission to rural house-holds in numerous villages.

The Chief Minister’s efforts in garnering huge investment by way of MoUs of Rs 35 lakh from Rising Rajasthan Global Investors summit is also laudable”, he said.

Acknowledging the presence of former Chief Minister Raje on the stage, at onset of his speech, the Union Home Minister made praiseful reference to her. He said -“Former Chief Minister Vasundhara RajeJi has always been worked for furthering the development of Rajasthan (during her rule)”.
