Senior leader and former Andhra Pradesh BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Thursday resigned as primary party member of BJP while blaming the state level leadership for not being in tune with the central leadership.
Laxminarayana will join TDP and fight the upcoming Assembly elections. A Kapu leader which is a dominant caste after Kammas and Reddys he was with the Congress till 2014 when the party was wiped out in the state.
He became AP BJP president in 2018 instead of frontrunner Somu Veerraju who replaced him two years later. Infighting in the party sidelined him in BJP and he became inactive in the party finally leading to his departure.
