Former Uttar Pradesh DGP and BJP’s Rajya Sabha member Brijlal has appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to send back all the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants staying in Lucknow and other parts of the state immediately to save the state from criminal and terror acts. He accused the state government department and officials of giving these Bangladeshi recognition by issuing them IDs on the name of sweepers and cleaners.

“Hundreds of Bangladeshis have entered the capital, Lucknow. Their children can be found selling balloons and pens at intersections or begging. Furthermore, municipal officials have issued them IDs, declaring them residents of Lucknow. Rohingya are living in huts here. The police are unable to verify them. They are a threat to the country. They are working for terrorist organizations under the guise of work,” he said in a post in his social media on Thursday.

The former DGP was out for his morning walk on Thursday when he filmed some sanitation workers and claimed that they were all Bangladeshi. “When I go for a morning walk on the service road of Gomti Nagar Extension, I find these people cleaning it. After that, they sit there all day. When asked, they say they came from Assam, but they are actually Bangladeshis,” he said, demanding that CM Yogi should deport such infiltrators to Bangladesh.

A video of the former Uttar Pradesh DGP has also surfaced. This statement by the BJP MP assumes significance as the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government is in power in Uttar Pradesh. Brijlal has accused the Bangladeshi infiltrators of living illegally in the state. “So many Bangladeshis live in Lucknow, yet neither the Municipal Corporation nor the Lucknow Police are concerned about this. The country’s security is being compromised. Some people are working on an international conspiracy to launch a Ghazwa-e-Hind in the country. It’s sad that the Municipal Corporation has deployed them as sanitation workers.”

He further said, “In Gomti Nagar Extension, you’ll find numerous huts of these Bangladeshis on vacant lots, along the Gomti River bed and along drains. They claim to be from Bongal, Nalbari, Barpeta, and Nagaon in Assam.”

He said these are the names of villages where such people were systematically settled as vote banks during Congress governments. Indira Gandhi wanted to rely on these Bangladeshis to win the 1983 Assam elections. Their number at the time was approximately 4 million. The All Assam Students Union and the All Assam Gana Sangram demanded that these foreigners be expelled first.

The organizations said that Indira Gandhi remained adamant resulting in the Nellie riots on February 12, 1983, in which 3,000-4,000 people were killed. I personally served in villages like Bongai with my PAC battalion. I know the area well. These people are Bangladeshis. Their language indicates that they are not Assamese, he added.

The former DGP alleged, “These Bangladeshis living in Lucknow pose a threat to the country’s security and integrity. This threat has increased significantly since the establishment of a fundamentalist and pro-Pakistan government in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi criminal gangs are carrying out crimes like robbery and theft. Furthermore, the Bangladeshi terrorist organization ‘HUJI’ (Harkat-ul-Jihad al Islami) has carried out terrorist attacks in several parts of the country. Uttar Pradesh is also a victim of this. Dreaded HuJI terrorists like Babu Bhai are still in Uttar Pradesh jails.
