Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav has advised the BJP government in connection with the recent incident involving Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand in Prayagraj.
Akhilesh Yadav said that even if a person is indirectly associated with someone else’s mistake, seeking forgiveness does not diminish one’s stature. On the contrary, it lightens the heart and spreads positivity in the atmosphere.
In a post on his social media account on Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav stated that great and wise individuals understand that behind any act of insolence or inappropriate behaviour, there is often a personal reason or vested interest of another person.
In such situations, accepting an apology with magnanimity and responding with affection and blessings is a true sign of greatness.
He said that Indian culture has, for centuries, accorded the highest importance to the value of forgiveness, a sentiment reflected in the saying, “Forgiveness is the ornament of the brave.”
Akhilesh Yadav further said that maintaining peace, harmony, and mutual respect in society is the greatest responsibility.
No religious or social incident or dispute should be turned into an issue of politics or conflict. The Samajwadi Party believes that every problem can be resolved through dialogue, humility, and forgiveness. He appealed to all parties to exercise restraint and cooperate in preserving social harmony.
