Apprehensive by PM Narendra Modi’s popularity, TRS chief and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to dissolve the Assembly and hold early elections in Telangana, claimed BJP president Amit Shah. He said that it is only the BJP which can keep Asaduddin Owaisi and his AIMIM at bay.

Addressing a rally at Karimnagar he attacked both Rao and Owaisi while taking potshots at the Congress-TDP alliance.

“Why did KCR waste so much money belonging to the poor people of Telangana by holding Assembly polls earlier instead of simultaneously with Parliamentary elections. This is because he is scared of Narendra Modi,” Shah said.

He accused Rao of cheating Telangana people and failing to fulfil 150 promises he had made prior to 2014 elections. Shah also said that even if Rao gives up the post of chief minister he will leave it to either his son or daughter but never to a Dalit.

He also alleged that families of martyrs who were killed during Telangana agitation were not given jobs as was promised by Rao. “ Telangana state was carved out and KCR became the chief minister but the families of Telangana martyrs didn’t get anything.”
