Sanskar Bharati organizes painting camp at Odisha’s heritage crafts village

Sanskar Bharati, Utkal Purv Prant, in collaboration with Shakuntala Art Gallery, Bhubaneswar, organised a three-day painting camp and discussion programme at Raghurajpur heritage crafts village in the Puri district from November 2 to 4.

The event saw participation from five renowned artists from Odisha, who created stunning paintings based on traditional and mythological themes in traditional Odissi style. The artists included Janardana Paramaguru, Pradeep Panda, Rajesh Kumar Nayak, Rajkishore Maharana, and Subash Pujahari.

A discussion session was also held with the participating artists and students from Utkal College of Art, moderated by Dr. Durgamadhab Kar, Principal of Odisha College of Art. The topic of discussion was “Traditional Art and Mythology of Odisha”.

Dr. Sthitadhi Rath, Coordinator of Visual Arts, Sanskar Bharati, Utkal Purv Prant, delivered a keynote address via video conference, sharing his insights on traditional art and mythology of Odisha.

The programme is aimed at promoting traditional art and culture of Odisha and provide a platform for artists to showcase their talent.
