In a move aimed at attracting large-scale technology investment and creating new employment opportunities in the state, the Bihar government has invited Google India to expand its presence in Bihar.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday met a high-level delegation from Google India, led by Vice President Chandu Thota, at Bihar Bhawan in New Delhi. The meeting focused on leveraging modern technologies to accelerate the state’s development and exploring strategies to position Bihar on the global information technology map.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister invited Google India leadership to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bihar under the Bihar Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy 2026. Both sides expressed their willingness to work towards a strong partnership aimed at accelerating Bihar’s digital development.
Sharing details of the meeting on social media platform X, the Chief Minister wrote, “A high-level delegation led by Google India Vice President Shri Chandu Thota met me at Bihar Bhawan, New Delhi. We held detailed discussions on possibilities of cooperation in the fields of technology, education, healthcare and agriculture. During the meeting, Google was invited to establish a Global Capability Centre in Bihar under the Bihar GCC Policy 2026.”
The two sides also held detailed discussions on potential collaboration in the fields of education, healthcare and agriculture, with a focus on strengthening Bihar’s key sectors through digital transformation.
The meeting is considered a significant step towards expanding the use of modern technology to improve the education system, make healthcare services more accessible and promote technological innovation in agriculture.
