Sachin appreciates CBSE move to include health, physical education programme in schools

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday appreciated the initiative taken by the CBSE to include mandatory health and physical education programme from Class IX to XII.

“One of the best b’day gifts I got this year – the news that #CBSE schools will include a mandatory health & physical education programme for class IX to XII students,” he tweeted.

He also thanked CBSE board for standing up for the sports and thanked the board.

In his another tweet, he said, “Thanks to the Board for standing up for sports, health & a brighter future for in’s children”.

It wasn’t for the first time that Sachin has appreciated steps taken to appreciate talent, improve curriculum, especially sports.

Not only in sports, he is very active in other welfare activities. A few days back, Tendulkar joined a roster of global celebrities, including David Beckham and Novak Djokovic, for a special UNICEF campaign that highlights the critical role played by fathers in children’s early development.

“When I was a young child, my father gave me the right amount of love, freedom and support to shape who I am today,” Tendulkar, a UNICEF Ambassador, said in a statement.
