A Vigilance Court in Kollam on Monday granted statutory bail to former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) member K.P. Shankaradas in the Sabarimala gold theft cases. With this order, all accused individuals in the case have now been released from jail.

The court granted statutory bail to Shankaradas after the Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the case, failed to file a chargesheet within the mandatory 90-day period following his arrest on January 14, 2026.

The bail pertains to two separate cases involving the alleged misappropriation of gold from the Dwarapalaka (guardian deity) idols and the Sreekovil (sanctum sanctorum) doorframes.

Shankaradas was the last among the 13 accused to remain in custody. Others who were previously granted bail include former TDB president A Padmakumar, Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru, and the prime accused, Unnikrishnan Potty.
