The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 pm on Wednesday soon after proceedings began and loud slogans of ‘we want justice’ were raised in the House.

The Rajya Sabha also witnessed ruckus as TDP MPs stormed the well of the House over demand of special status to Andhra Pradesh. Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House for the day as the opposition didn’t heed to his requests for calm.

The members of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha said, ‘it is also the duty of the govt to facilitate proceedings of the House.’

On 20 March, both houses of Parliament were on Tuesday adjourned for the day while the TDP and YSR Congress failed to introduce the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha as Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh MPs disrupted proceedings over their state specific demands.

In Rajya Sabha, protesting MPs from the AIADMK, DMK and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) entered the well soon after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj made a statement on the 39 missing Indians in Iraq.

On Monday too, the upper house was adjourned for the entire day without transacting any business after parties from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh disrupted proceedings.

The TDP and TRS members were shouting slogans for special status for Andhra Pradesh while Tamil Nadu parties – DMK and AIADMK- raised the Cauvery water issue.

On March 16 as well, both the parties had tried to move the motion but it could not be taken up amid protests and sloganeering.
