The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) began its nine-day Vijaya Dashmi utsav on Sunday, marking its year-long centenary celebrations.

The opening ceremony was observed on Sunday across Rajasthan, with several programmes scheduled over the nine days until October 5.

On the opening day, Swayamsevak’s congregations were organised at 9,000 locations across the state, right from the local ward/basti level up to the district and state capital level, a Sangh spokesman said here on Sunday evening.

Swayamsevaks of all age groups are attending the congregations, and more than 27,000 intellectuals and citizens are expected to attend the Vijaya Dashmi utsav programme as guests. The Sangh will highlight its mission, “Panch Parivartan,” to evoke mass awareness of this agenda.

These congregations were organised to demonstrate the disciplined and collective strength of the RSS and to inspire intellectuals and people from different walks of life to engage in the Sangh’s social service mission.
