Discussions on programmes for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) centenary year celebrations dominated the Sangh Parivar’s agenda at its All India Coordination Committee meeting here on Saturday, the second day.
Marathon discussions were held on various aspects of the year-long celebrations scheduled to begin on October 2, 2025, and conclude on Vijayadashmi in 2026, RSS national spokesperson Sunil Ambekar said on Saturday.
Various organisations shared information about their programmes and plans. Mainly, SAKSHAM (Samadrishti, Kshamata Vikas evam Anusandhan Mandal) informed about the mega “Netra Kumbh” (Eye Camp) organised during the annual mela of the centre of reverence, folk deity Baba Ramdev, at Ramdeora from August 1 to September 2.
During the 33-day Netra Kumbh at Ramdeora, eye check-ups were performed for 1,00,797 beneficiaries. Of these, 85,337 received spectacles, and 6,234 patients were identified for eye surgeries, which will be scheduled soon. This unique experiment by SAKSHAM in the border area was undertaken for the first time and received an encouraging response from local people as well as devotees from different parts of the country.
A discussion was held on strengthening the spirit of goodwill and brotherhood in society and on empowering the rural economy through dairy cooperatives. Besides, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) shared its experience from a public awareness campaign on de-addiction and its harmful effects on society, while the Bharat Vikas Parishad discussed its campaign for an Anaemia-Free India.
Likewise, the Mahila Samanvay (organisation) organised various activities and training programmes to increase women’s participation in social activities. The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh discussed plans to encourage farmers to adopt organic farming and move away from chemical fertilisers.
The Swadeshi Jagran Manch presented a detailed account of its awareness programmes to promote the use of Swadeshi products, economic self-reliance, and prosperity.
