Congress leader Pawan Khera on Monday condemned the alleged threats made by BJP leaders and spokespersons against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, drawing parallels with what he described as the RSS’s alleged history of resorting to violence when faced with ideological defeat.

“Every time the RSS fails to defeat the ideology of India, their foot soldiers resort to physical violence. And a Godse kills Gandhi,” Khera said in a post on X.

Khera highlighted the alleged pattern of intimidation and violence, stating that the current threats against Rahul Gandhi are part of a wider conspiracy to silence the voices of millions of poor, marginalized, and weaker sections.

“Now, when the BJP is losing the ideological battle, their spokespersons and leaders are threatening to kill Rahul Gandhi. A conspiracy is afoot to silence the voice of millions of poor, marginalised & weaker sections,” Khera added.

The controversy stems from a series of recent statements made by BJP leaders and spokespersons, which have been perceived as threatening towards Rahul Gandhi, drawing sharp condemnation from the Congress. The party has accused the BJP of deliberately fostering a climate of fear to suppress dissent and weaken the opposition’s voice.

Khera’s comments highlight the Congress party’s concerns about the BJP’s alleged tactics to silence opposition voices.

Khera’s reference to Nathuram Godse’s assassination of Mahatma Gandhi serves as a reminder of the violent ideologies associated with the RSS and its affiliates.

Khera’s allegations of a conspiracy to silence marginalized voices underscore the Congress party’s concerns about the BJP’s intentions and actions.
