Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) member Manju Sharma has tendered her resignation on moral grounds in the wake of the SI Recruitment Exam 2021 paper leak controversy.

In her resignation letter to Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagade, Sharma stated that she was stepping down to help maintain transparency and integrity in public life.

Her decision reportedly followed remarks and observations made by Justice Sameer Jain of the Rajasthan High Court against nearly half a dozen RPSC members in connection with the SI Recruitment Exam 2021 paper leak case.

Sharma, who is the wife of AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, said the case and the controversy surrounding it had tarnished the image and reputation of the RPSC and its members.

“Although I have neither committed any wrongdoing nor am I facing any case or inquiry, I resign in adherence to high moral values in public life,” she wrote in her letter to the Governor.

Significantly, BJP state president Madan Rathore had hinted two days ago that some RPSC members might step down on their own in view of the controversy.
