RK Singh, Union Minister of State, Power and New & Renewable Energy, on Thursday, inaugurated NTPC’s conference on Power Plant Flexibility: Paving way for Green Grid.

At the inauguration, Singh said, “We are in times of change and growth and with the growth of economy and increase in per capita income, the power demand is also increasing at over 6% and will grow multi-folds in coming times. It is therefore, imperative that we increase use of renewable energy for the importance of Sustainability and Preservation of Environment.”

“Our commitment is that 40% of total capacity will come from renewables and by 2030 we will be able to cross that,” added Singh.
