In a significant development related to the Red Fort blast and the now busted ‘white-collar’ Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) on Thursday revoked the membership of Al-Falah University.
In a press release, the AIU said that Al-Falah will no longer be entitled to use the association’s name or logo.
Located at Dhauj village in Haryana’s Faridabad, Al-Falah University first came under the scanner after the Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a doctor named Muzammil Ganaie and recovered around 350 kg of explosive grade ammonium nitrate from Delhi-NCR.
Ganai worked at Al-Falah University and was a key member of a ‘white-collar’Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module. Red Fort bomb blast accused Dr Umar Un Nabi also worked at same university.
However, the university denied any links to their activities, saying it has no connection to the accused doctors apart from them being working in their official capacities.
The AIU action came on the same day the Jammu and Kashmir police and a bomb disposal squad visited the university campus to inspect a Brezza car allegedly linked to the Red Fort bombing accused.
Earlier, accreditation body NAAC had also issued a notice to the university, slamming it for falsely displaying NAAC grades on its website.
NAAC said that Al-Falah was never accredited, terming its claims of having a “Grade A” accreditation “absolutely wrong and misleading.
