South India’s film superstar Rajinikanth, who is currently on a spiritual visit to Uttarakhand, reached the Badrinath Shrine on Monday as the CChardham pilgrimage 2025 has reached its concluding part of the season. Here, he offered prayers to Lord Badrinath and sought blessings for the well-being of all countrymen.

After his night stays in Rishikesh and the Dawarahat Ashram in Kumaon, the renowned actor was welcomed by the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) upon his arrival at Badrinath.

Rajinikanth participated in a prayer under the supervision of local priests, invoking providential blessings for the people of India. BKTC, on its part, presented him prasad (offering) and a mala (garland) of tulsi (holy basil) beads as a blessing from lord Badrinath.

Rajinikanth began his Uttarakhand spiritual tour on Saturday as he arrived at Swami Dayanand Ashram in Rishikesh in the afternoon.

He took part in a small meditation session at the ashram and later spent time with locals and the people at the ashram. He also took part in the evening Ganga Aarti in Rishikesh. Herefrom Rajinikanth moved to Dwarahat Ashram in Kumaon on Sunday.

Although rare, a couple of his photographs came out in public and went viral on social media. In one of the pictures, Rajinikanth was even seen having a meal in a pattal (leaf plate) standing at a roadside dhaba.

In another photograph, Rajinikanth, dressed in simple white clothes, was seen interacting with local people and showing respect to the priest of an ashram. The third picture made public on Monday shows Rajinikanth walking with his security personnel in the crowd in the Badrinath shrine area.

Significantly, the septuagenarian Indian filmstar had been regularly coming on spiritual breaks to the Himalayan state for some years. His ongoing visit to Uttarakhand is yet another chapter of his spiritual journeys to the Himalayas.

Rajinikanth recently did TJ Gnanavel’s film ‘Vettaiyan’ with Amitabh Bachchan and Rana Daggubati. Apart from this, he also shot Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Coolie’ and ‘Jailer 2’ this year.

Rajinikanth’s Uttarakhand visit, puja, meditation (sadhana), interactions with the people and priests in complete simplicity have turned into one of the most discussed issues in his Himalayan journey. He is likely to return to Delhi on Monday.

Portals of the Chardham Shrines Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath will be closed for the winter after Diwali as deities are shifted to their alternate seats of worship for the next six months of the year.

While portals of Gangotri temple will be closed on October 22, portals of Kedarnath and Yamunotri will be closed on October 23, and that of Badrinath on October 25.
