Veteran BJP leader Jaswant Singh’s son and MLA Manvendra Singh, who had recently joined the Congress will contest against Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje from Jhalrapatan in the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections.

Manvendra Singh had joined the Congress at Rahul Gandhi’s residence in the presence of party senior leaders in October.

Manvendra quit BJP on September 22 at a public rally with the phrase ‘Kamal Ka Phool, Hamari Bhool.’

The Congress on Saturday released its second list of 32 candidates for the December 7 assembly election in Rajasthan.

The second list was released by the Congress general secretary and in-charge of Rajasthan Mukul Wasnik.

The opposition party had declared 152 candidates in the first list on Thursday night.
