Rajasthan LoP Tika Ram Jully’s mother passes away at 90

Mother of Rajasthan Assembly Leader of the Opposition Tika Ram Jully, Chalti Devi, passed away late Friday night at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur following a brief illness. She was 90.

She is survived by her two sons, Tika Ram Jully and Mukesh, a businessman associated with public life in Haryana.

According to sources, the nonagenarian complained of breathing difficulty and vomiting on Friday evening, following which she was rushed to the hospital, where she later passed away.

Her last rites were performed on Saturday afternoon at her native village Kaathuwas in Alwar district. A large number of people, party workers and political leaders attended the funeral.

Among those present were former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra.

Condolences poured in from leaders across party lines, including Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Congress president and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.

Several political leaders and members of the public expressed grief and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
