Rajasthan okays Rs 1,000 cr corpus fund for dairy development


Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has taken an important initiative and granted approval to create a corpus fund of Rs 1,000 crore for dairy development in the state.

The aim is to increase the milk processing capacity of the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) to 7.5 million liters per day. Animal feed production capacity is also pegged to go up to 2,550 metric tons per day.

Shruti Bhardwaj, Administrator and Managing Director of RCFD, said that under the RCDIDF approval, the production capacity of RCDF animal feed plants will also be increased.

Presently, the production capacity of animal feed plants is 1,800 metric tonnes per day which will be increased to 2,500 metric tonnes per day.

She said that RCDF will contribute 10 per cent of the corpus fund from its own profits.
Similarly, district milk unions will also contribute 10 per cent to the corpus fund from their own profits.
