On the eve of New Year, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma arrived in the city of Lord Krishna to express his deep devotion.
The Chief Minister, along with his family (wife and son), visited Giriraj Maharaj in Govardhan and performed the seven-kilometer circumambulation, praying for auspiciousness.
The unwavering faith of the chief minister’s family became a topic of discussion when his wife and son completed the 21-kilometer-long Dandavat circumambulation. The Dandavat circumambulation is considered the most difficult, in which devotees prostrate themselves on the ground and move forward.
Amidst tight security arrangements, the chief minister appeared like an ordinary devotee. He offered milk to the deities at the Dan Ghati temple and Mukharbind and sought blessings.
In a brief interaction with reporters, he said it is only through the grace of Giriraj Ji that he receives the strength to serve the people, and he wanted to begin the new year with the blessings of Lord Krishna.
During the circumambulation, the local administration and police force remained vigilant, but the chief minister’s simplicity and religious devotion won the hearts of the people of Braj.
