In a bid to strengthen economic governance amid evolving global challenges, the Rajasthan government has approved a revised Industrial Development Policy 2026, giving priority not only to core industries but also to emerging talent-driven sectors such as semiconductors, data centres, logistics and IT services.
The new policy, based on the four core principles of “Green, Governance, Growth and Globalisation”, seeks to simplify procedures and remove bottlenecks that delay industrial approvals and investments. The policy was approved by the state cabinet at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday evening.
Addressing the media after the cabinet meeting, Industries and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said the policy aims to position Rajasthan as a preferred global industrial hub offering employment and career opportunities for youth in emerging sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing units, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), logistics and IT services.
Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar and Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat were also present during the press briefing.
According to the minister, the policy proposes attractive incentives and rebates for semiconductor units, GCCs, logistics and warehousing projects, IT services, recycling plants and tourism-related industries. It also continues to support traditional sectors such as textiles, handicrafts, gems and jewellery, agro-processing and dairy.
The policy further aims to eliminate procedural delays by strengthening the Single Window Clearance system. To reduce red tape, the government has introduced measures such as self-certification of documents, auto-renewal of licences and permissions, and a deemed approval mechanism to facilitate quicker clearances for investors and entrepreneurs.
In another key decision, the cabinet approved amendments to the Rajasthan Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1996, to improve convenience for pensioners and specially abled persons. Pensioners will now be able to submit life certificates through facial authentication using mobile applications. Similarly, specially abled dependents will be required to furnish disability certificates only once instead of every three years.
The cabinet also approved the allotment of 71 hectares of land to JK Cement and 121 hectares to Dalmia Cement for laying railway tracks in their respective mining and factory areas in Jaisalmer. The land allotments have been made at double DLC rates, the minister said.
Additionally, approvals were granted for land allotment for renewable energy projects proposed by various groups, Energy Minister Nagar informed.
Water Resources Minister Rawat announced that the “Vande Ganga Water Awareness Campaign” would be conducted from May 25 to June 5, 2026. He also said the “Harit Rajasthan” mega tree plantation drive would be launched from June 5, 2026.
