The Rajasthan government has decided to strengthen infrastructure in the health and medical sectors to transform the state into a model hub for medical tourism.

A proposal and project presentation prepared by the concerned departments was approved by the state cabinet, which met on Monday afternoon under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa and Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, super-speciality hospitals and ancillary infrastructure will be developed to offer world-class specialised medical services at competitive costs.

Additionally, work is progressing well on upgrading the RUHS College of Medical Sciences into the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), which will function as an autonomous body on the lines of AIIMS, New Delhi.

These efforts are expected to boost super-speciality treatment facilities across the state, providing a compelling option for NRIs and NRRs to visit Rajasthan for both tourism and quality medical care.

Apart from the medical and health sector initiatives, the cabinet also approved the new Rajasthan City Gas Distribution Policy and the Green Rajasthan–2025 Policy.
