The Rajasthan government has constituted a five-member committee to conduct an inquiry into the circumstances and factors that led to the death of a Class IV student, who reportedly jumped from the fourth floor of her school building here on Saturday.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar visited Amaira’s home on Sunday to console her parents and announced the formation of a probe committee, which would submit its report at the earliest.
The deceased, Amaira (9), a Class IV student of Neerja Modi School, left her ground-floor classroom with permission from the teacher to go to the washroom. However, instead of heading there, she went up to the fourth floor and jumped off the building.
A video circulating on social media suggests that no one pushed Amaira, as she is seen climbing onto the railing and jumping off.
The girl’s family and some office-bearers of the parents’ association have demanded a thorough inquiry and stern action against the school management. Police have also taken notice of school officials cleaning bloodstains from the floor and walls, and are viewing it as an attempt to destroy evidence at the scene.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against the teachers concerned and the school officials
