DK Suresh, former Congress MP and brother of Deputy Chief Minister and Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar, today told reporters in Bengaluru that Rahul Gandhi will decide on the state leadership after reviewing the recent developments across the country and considering all dimensions.
“Rahul Gandhi has to take a view after considering developments across the country. He has to take note of various developments. The party leadership intends to consider everything and take a unanimous decision. We are confident about the decision,” Suresh stated.

However, he reiterated that power does not come easily to anyone. He stressed that if it is written in my brother’s fate, he will become the Chief Minister. “It is not easy to attain the post of Chief Minister. Power does not come easily, and no one gives up their chair just like that. Even Gram Panchayat officials do not vacate their chairs easily. The post of Chief Minister does not come without effort,” he said.
Expressing concern for the interests of MLAs and party workers, Suresh said that everything needs to be taken care of with patience. He insisted that since Shivakumar is the Karnataka Congress President, discipline should be reflected by him first, which he is following.

DK Suresh calls Shivakumar ‘party’s disciplined soldier waiting patiently’
Referring to Shivakumar as a disciplined soldier of the party from the beginning, Suresh reiterated that Shivakumar is waiting patiently for instructions from the party.
Discussing the conflicting views on the leadership change in the state, Suresh clearly stated that his views would naturally be in the interest of Shivakumar. He said, “The media views issues from its own perspective. Others will have different viewpoints. Anyone aspiring to become a minister will see things from that angle.”
Speaking about Shivakumar’s loyalty towards the Congress party, Suresh emphasised that his brother has stood with the party in all circumstances, whether the party is in power or not.
On appeasement politics, Suresh pointed out that there is no scope for appeasing just one group, as votes of all communities are important. He underlined that caste-based politics affects the development of both the state and the nation. He said, “It is not about certain castes. The Congress party needs the support of all castes and classes. A politician requires votes from Vokkaligas and Lingayats, as well as from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.”
Meanwhile, DCM Shivakumar is anticipating good news for himself and his supporters from the high command by the Shivarathri festival. He said, “My brother, party workers and even the media are saying that I will get good news. I have the support of 140 MLAs. Even Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is supporting me.”
