Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi warned on Monday that there was a possibility of manipulation of voter list in the 2028 Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls too, just like what he claimed happened in Maharashtra.
Gandhi was virtually speaking on the opening day of the two-day training camp for Congress MPs and MLAs in Mandu, a popular tourist destination in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
He urged party leaders to intensify preparation to ensure electoral success at the grassroots level. “Voter list manipulation, similar to what happened in Maharashtra, could take place in Madhya Pradesh too,” he averred.
The Congress leader reiterated that if the Congress returned to power in MP, it would conduct a caste census and ensure increased representation for Dalits, backward classes, tribals, and women in government employment.
Accusing the BJP of spreading hatred across the country, he criticized the concentration of the country’s economy in the hands of a few industrialists, leading to widespread distress.
