‎Raghu Rai, widely regarded as one of India’s most iconic photographers, was known for his compelling visual narratives ranging from everyday life to defining historical moments.

A former chief photographer at The Statesman and a contributor to leading international publications, Rai earned global acclaim for his evocative images, including his documentation of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy and portraits reflecting the complexity of Indian society.

‎His work, marked by deep humanism and a keen eye for detail, played a pivotal role in shaping the visual memory of modern India, leaving a lasting influence on generations of photographers and journalists.
