Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Thursday reaffirmed the party’s commitment to ensuring full rights for the most backward, Dalit, tribal, minority, and backward communities in Bihar.

Gandhi’s statement comes after the RJD-led Grand Alliance on Wednesday released the “Most Backward Justice Manifesto,” outlining concrete promises to strengthen the most backward community and increase their participation in various sectors.

The RJD-led Grand Alliance in Bihar had Wednesday released the first part of their joint Ati-Pichhda Nyay Sankalp (Resolution for Justice to EBCs) election manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections, making several announcements for the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs).

Gandhi emphasized the importance of education in promoting progress among the most backward communities. “Education is the greatest means of progress for these communities, so there are special resolutions to increase their access in this sector,” he said in a post on handle X.

The manifesto promises to implement reservations in private colleges and universities, reserve half of the seats in private schools for SC/ST/OBC/EBC children, and end unjust practices like “Not Found Suitable” in appointments.

Gandhi asserted that the Grand Alliance’s promises are not just about education but about fighting for equality and dignity for the most backward communities. “This is the true guarantee of social justice and equitable development,” he said. Despite alleged attempts by the BJP to spread lies and diversionary conspiracies, Gandhi expressed confidence in the alliance’s commitment to ensuring full rights for the marginalized communities.

“No matter how many lies and diversionary conspiracies the BJP may hatch, we are committed to ensuring full rights for the most backward, Dalit, tribal, minority, and backward communities,” Gandhi said, highlighting the alliance’s determination to promote social justice and equitable development in Bihar.
