Attacking Rahul Gandhi, the BJP on Friday said it expected the Congress vice-president to back his corruption charge against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but he instead continues to peddle “lies and unfounded allegations”.
The party said Gandhi has become a subject of “ridicule” with his daily unsubstantiated allegations and asked him to reveal names of AgustaWestland scam beneficiaries.
“Rahul Gandhi should instead of making wild claims first tell us who was the first family that the middleman in the tainted VVIP chopper deal has spoken of? Who was the ‘AP’ as his party was in power then,” BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
“We expected him to come out with details of allegations he levelled against the prime minister but he continues to peddle lies and unfounded allegations against him daily. He is delusional and remains a part-time, non-serious politician who should not be taken seriously,” Sharma said.
The UPA government had waived off Rs 36,000 crore corporate loan and ensured that liquor baron Vijay Mallya was given Rs 1,500 crore loan even though his bank account was frozen due to his default on loan repayment, Sharma alleged, countering Congress’ black money barbs at the government.
Modi has been working hard to solve problems he inherited from the 10 years of Congress’ rule, he claimed.
Gandhi today accused Modi of resorting to “fire bombing” in the form of demonetisation to support 1 per cent “super rich” people.
