Expressing satisfaction over the achievements during two years of his rule, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said 70 per cent of promises (sankalps) made by the BJP in its manifesto for 2023 assembly elections have been fulfilled.
Sharma was elected leader of the ruling BJP legislature party on this day in 2023 and his government assumed office on December 15. December 12 is being celebrated in the state as the Innovation Day, a delighted CM Sharma said.
Addressing a press conference here Friday afternoon on the occasion, the chief minister said, “My government being inspired and guided by the innovation-centric work culture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also being run on that innovative mode and approach. The state government will hold a series of programmes to celebrate the anniversary until December 25.
Sharma said, “While seeking mandate from the people in 2023, we in our manifesto had made 392 promises (Sankalps), of them, 274 have either been fulfilled or are at the stage of accomplishment. In all arenas of development, our government machinery and the people performed well, standing ahead of other states of the country in many streams.”
In as many as 11 development and/or welfare schemes, Rajasthan finished at the top position (first rank), in five other Yojanas the state achieved the second place and in nine other welfare programmes, its performance rated for third position.
Rajasthan not only performed far better in comparison with other states, it had outclassed the previous Congress-led regime (2018-2023), Chief Minister Sharma asserted, adding, “What the previous Congress-led government did achieve on development/governance front in their five-year term, we have achieved much more than that in just two years. In many sectors our target achievement is multifold.
While we serve the people, elevate the lives of the needy and the downtrodden and expedite tasked works, the Congress people hindered realisation of their own goals/efforts, hampered pace of the execution of the projects-schemes, he said.
Sharma dismissed the Opposition Congress’ suspicions over the genuineness of the data released by the government on realisation of the project proposals, MoUs signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investors Summit here in December last year.
He also released (sectoral) figures of the number of MoUs signed at the summit and the quantum of the investment involved in them.

A maximum of 821 MoUs for projects in the energy sector worth Rs 27,89,842 crore were signed last year, of which 441 worth Rs 6,19,556 crore have so far been attained groundbreaking, he concluded.
Later, the chief minister flagged off “Vikas Raths”, equipped with audio video version and the printed publicity material, for highlighting the state government’s good work achievements among masses in all districts.
