Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma exhorted industrialists’ corporate groups to prepare and inspire youths to set their eyes on becoming job creators and not the job seekers.
“India needs more job creators rather than job seekers, and there is immense potential in Rajasthan to nurture such an ecosystem”, Sharma
said while addressing the session on the annual day of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Rajasthan chapter here Thursday.
The Chief Minister said that the environment in the state is conducive for economic growth — the law and order situation in the state has
significantly improved, with a noticeable reduction in crime. Connectivity has also strengthened, with better air and rail networks, contributing to stronger economic growth,he asserted.
“Under the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi, India’s economy has risen rapidly — from being among the world’s top ten economies a decade ago to now becoming the fourth-largest economy globally, and it is poised to soon become the third-largest'” he said, stressing the need to improve infrastructure and opportunities in rural areas so that people can continue to live and work there.
At present, urban populations are expanding rapidly while rural populations are declining, making balanced development across regions essential.
During the Special Address, Chairperson, CII Northern Region and Executive Chairperson, Anand Group, Anjali Singh said CII’s 13 Centres
of Excellence are helping translate vision into action. These centres focus on areas such as competitiveness, agriculture, sustainability,
skills, water management and MSME development.
She said that CII is closely working with the Government to expand opportunities for youth. She also highlighted that initiatives of CII
are encouraging greater participation of women professionals and entrepreneurs, especially in rural and semi-rural areas. She also
proposed a Rajasthan Tourism Board in a PPP model to further boost tourism in the State.
