Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has claimed that a house was sealed in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj by the authorities, even when a girl was present inside it. The allegation, however, has been refuted by the Prayagraj Development Authority.

Sharing a video on social media paltform X, the former chief minister said that an “inhuman” act was carried out by the Prayagraj Development Authority that sealed a woman’s house in the Civil Lines area, with her daughter locked inside.

“This is the heartless deed of the insensitive BJP government’s irresponsible and inhuman Prayagraj Development Authority, in which, in Prayagraj’s Civil Lines, the PDA sealed a woman’s home from society and also sealed her daughter inside that home,” read the translation of Yadav’s post in Hindi.

He further stated that the sealing was done when the woman had gone out with her second child.

“Suspend the guilty and take strict punitive action as well. Utterly condemnable,” he added.

In reply to the Samajwadi Party chief’s now-viral post, PDA Vice-Chairman Rishiraj told PTI that the claim was incorrect.

The official stated that the woman whose house was sealed has her brother’s house adjacent to it, while there was a way to enter the house from the rear side, through which the girl had entered.

Rishiraj further claimed that the woman seen speaking in the clip shared by Yadav herself was inside the house.

The unauthorised house was sealed behind a hotel in the Civil Lines police station area.
