A special team of the police on Monday busted two modules of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit and arrested 10 terrorists. A huge quantity of grenades, gelatine sticks, detonators and material for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) has been recovered from their possession, a police officer said.

These modules have been cracked in Tral and Awantipura areas of South Kashmir.

In view of the surge in terror attacks in Tral in which civilians and security forces were targeted, creating an atmosphere of panic and fear, a special team was constituted to investigate these cases and on the basis of material evidence collected, four persons identified as Younis Nabi Naik of Pinglish, Fayaz Ahmad Wani of Reshipora, Riyaz Ahmad Ganaie of Nigeenpora and Bilal Ahmad Rather of Hafoo Nigeenpora were taken into custody.

Interrogation revealed their complicity in the terror attacks carried out in Tral in South Kashmir.

Another terror module was busted in Khrew area of Pampore in which six associates of proscribed terror outfit JeM, identified as Javaid Ahmad Parray of Bethan Khrew, Yasir Bashir Wani Babapora Khrew, Tahir Yousuf Lone of Khrew, Rafiq Ahmad Bhat of Sharshali Khrew, Javaid Ahmad Khanday of Khrew and Imran Nazir son of Mandakpaul Naimsaab Khrew were arrested on the basis of recovered incriminating materials.

This comes a day after a student of the Noida- based Sharda University, Ahtisham Bilal, who had joined the ISIS a few days ago, surrendered before the security forces at his home in the Khanyar locality of Srinagar. The surrender came in the presence of his parents who had made appeals to him to return home as soon as his photo carrying an assault rifle appeared on social media.
