Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday continued his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Nirav Modi-PNB multi-crore scam, saying that the BJP leaders should “speak up” and “stop behaving as if you’re guilty”.

Rahul Gandhi questioned PM Modi’s silence and took to Twitter saying, “PM Modi tells kids how to pass exams for 2 hrs, but won’t speak for 2 mins on the 22,000Cr banking scam. Mr Jaitley is in hiding. Stop behaving as if you’re guilty! Speak up”.

Gandhi was referring to PM Modi’s interaction with students during ‘Pariksha pe Charcha’ on 16 February.

Congress is unrelentingly attacking BJP over the Rs 11,400 crore scam. On Saturday Gandhi had said, ““Instead of spending an hour and a half explaining to little kids how to take exams, he should explain to the people of India what is going to be done to Nirav Modi and what is he going to do to make sure that the banking system is safe”.

He had alleged that the Modi government “constantly refuses to accept responsibility” in the over Rs 11,000 crore scam that has rocked the nation and raised a series of questions on India’s banking system, safety of the taxpayer’s money and the loopholes which allow alleged accused such as Nirav Modi to leave the country.

Gandhi on Thursday taunted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying “scamsters” Lalit Modi and Nirav Modi had a common “NaMo” link.

In a widely shared tweet, Gandhi wrote about their flight from India: “The scamsters’ escape formula: La(Mo)+Ni(Mo) —–> Bha(Go)”.

Rahul Gandhi had taken took to Twitter saying, “Guide to looting India by Nirav Modi. Hug PM Modi. Be seen with him in Davos. Use that clout to: steal 12,000 crore. Slip out of the country like Mallya while the government looks the other way”.

Earlier on Saturday, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi threatened to file a civil and a criminal defamation against the allegations levelled against him in connection to Nirav Modi.

Singhvi said, “Neither my wife, nor sons, nor I have anything whatsoever to do with Gitanjali or any of Nirav Modi’s companies.”

He was reacting to a statement issued by Defence Minister Sitharaman in which it was alleged that Singhvi’s wife and son held stocks in Fire Star Diamond, the company run by Nirav Modi.
