PM to virtually flag off Vande Bharat as Sankranti gift

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the eighth Vande Bharat train between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam on 15 January as a Sankranti gift to the people of the two Telugu states. Earlier, the Prime Minister was to visit Telangana and inaugurate a number of projects and also lay the foundation stone apart from flagging off the train from platform no.10 of Secunderabad railway station. After his visit was postponed the Prime Minister will now virtually flag off the train while union railway minister for railways Ashwini Vaishnaw and tourism minister G Kishan Reddy will be present at the railway platform.

In a tweet Reddy mentioned the train as a Sankranti gift to the people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In a major boost to rail connectivity in both the states Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the 8th Vande Bharat Train from Secunderabad Railway Station.

In the meantime, the RPF detained three people today in connection with the incidence of stone pelting at the Vande Bharat express in Visakhapatnam. After reviewing the CCTV footage, the RPF managed to capture them. The stone pelting had left the yet to be inaugurated train with two smashed windows.
