Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate development projects worth Rs 13,430 crore tomorrow at Kurnool during his visit to Andhra Pradesh. He will start his visit with the shrine at Srisailam before proceeding to Kurnool for a road show and address a public rally.
Ahead of the prime minister’s visit, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed hope of developing Srisailam for religious tourism, which is a Shaktipeetham, following Mr Modi’s visit.
Naidu, who held a teleconference with MPs, MLAs, and other leaders, appealed to the NDA leaders to make the prime minister’s visit a success. The prime minister will first visit Srisailam, where he will perform puja at Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam, a shrine which is a Shaktipeeth with a Jyotirlinga on its premises.
Mr Modi will also visit Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial complex built to commemorate Chhatrapati Shivaji’s visit to the shrine in 1677.
He will then travel to Kurnool to attend a public rally on GST 2.0 reforms along with his NDA allies, Chandrababu Naidu and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan. The prime minister will also lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects in key sectors, including industry, power, transmission, roads, railways, defence manufacturing and petroleum and natural gas. The foundation stone for the Orvakal industrial area in Kurnool and the Kothaparthy industrial area in Kadapa will be laid tomorrow with investments of over Rs 4,920 crore. These modern, multi-sectoral industrial hubs feature a plug-and-play and work-to-walk concept and are expected to attract Rs 21,000 crore in investment and create over one lakh jobs in the parched Rayalseema region.
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a six-lane greenfield highway between Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar to be built for Rs 960 crore to ease congestion at Vizag. Foundation stones for several key railway projects will also be laid tomorrow. He will dedicate to the nation projects by GAIL and Indian Oil and a factory of advanced night vision products at Nimmaluru in the Krishna district.
